Biographical Description

Will, an African American man residing in New Hanover County, North Carolina, was enslaved by Bryant Lee. In February 1768, for motives that were not recorded, Will murdered Bryant Lee and his wife Mary. Once the local court found Will guilty of the crime, they ordered his execution by hanging sometime between February 28 and March 5, 1768.
