Biographical Description

David King Cherry was born May 7, 1883, in Cremo, NC. Cherry served overseas during World War I as a captain in 367th Infantry. He was honorably discharged on August 15, 1919. Cherry was a career educator, serving as a professor at North Carolina A&T, as dean of education at Elizabeth City State, and later as president of Kittrell College. He died on September 17, 1956.
