Your letter received, and I beg to say that some time ago The Birth of the Nation was advertised to be shown in Winston-Salem in this State. The local authorities, for the reasons mentioned in your letter, had the show called off. I have heard nothing of it being in North Carolina since that time, and I do not think it will be shown here during the war.
