Dear Sir:

In as much as our nation is facing another crisis in its history, we, the students of Shaw University, wishing to make clear the position of Negro students, take this opportunity to assure you of our loyalty to and support of the state and nation in the defending of our country and the maintaining of its honor. Again, we wish to assure you that we stand ready to rally to the cause of our nation and to uphold the standard of loyalty which our people have demonstrated in every national crisis.
