Hon. T. W. Bickett
Executive Mansion
Raleigh, N.C.

My dear Governor Bickett,

I am enclosing a copy of a letter sent to Secretary Houston of the Department of Agriculture. Greensboro is proud of the undertaking described in the letter, and we hope it meets your approval as a means to foster the food production campaign, and that you will give us any help or any suggestions for furthering the scheme already in action.

The Greensboro High School Battalion is at your service in peace and in war.

Most respectfully
Your obedient servant,

William C A Hammel

Enclosure: 1917, April 28. Hammel to Houston.
