Hon. Wm. H. Taft, President,
League to Enforce Peace,
70 Fifth Avenue, New York.

My dear Mr. Taft:

I am getting a great many communications about the activities of the League to Enforce Peace. I find it impossible for me to answer all of these letters, but I desire to say to you, and to your staff, that I am leaving no stone unturned to get the people of North Carolina thoroughly committed to the principles of the League. I am sure that I have made at least one hundred speeches in North Carolina about this war, and in every one of them I have emphasized the principles for which our League stands. You may be sure that North Carolina is in line, and that the entire weight of this State will be exerted in favor of the principles of the League when time comes for definite, concrete action.

Sincerely yours,

Governor.
