You have sent me a Letter by your warrior & bid me Stay and my pople stay at home until you wanted me I have Received a hatchet in my poples heads as well as the white pople & I am Sorry for it Seven of my pople are Carried of by the french Indians since I parted you: I sent Twenty of my men after them but Could not Come up with them.

Further I have Received a String of Beads when in Town from the Little Carpenter which is mixed with black beads I did not Know what it meaned untill I Came home: & I find it was a Token to Join them against my Brothers the white pople.

Governor Dobbs hath pretended to build a fort: But now he hath Ordered his Tools away and promised us to build a fort at the Yadkin & supplie us with all sorts of goode but we do not Chuss to Deal with him but hopes the ^his Brother the^ Governor of So. Carolina will build us a fort here that will hold forty or fifty men & our Women & Children as well as the Neighbouring White women & Children whilst we go to warr to fight for Our great father King George over the water & then we will go where Ever our Brother the Governor will send us.

The white pople about us is very Cross to us & has got all the goods our Brother the Governor Brother gave us; which we was Obliged to give for Corn They have made use give a new gun for one bushell of Corn & have got all our Blankets & Ammuntion so that we have no pouder nor ball to fight our Enemie and I hope our Brother the Governor in Charlestown will send us a Trader in the fort as he promised us we will pay for ^our goods^ We will never forget our love to the English: & hope they will love us

Governor Dobbs hath Ordered us beef for my pople and they give us a Stallion Cows & makes the Country pay for good beef.

I am ^not^ shure whether the Cherokees had any hand in the takeing of my pople but I will soon Know & I will let your Warrior Adamson for my brother Know all that happens

Last year the Cherokees Employed the Shawnese & Joined them to Kill the white pople: You must not trust the Cherokees they are great Rogues.

I have no more to say but I hope my brother the Governor of So. Carolina will build us a fort & send us a Trader

Govournor Dobbs told me it may be the white pople would go away & leave us to our Selves
