Mr. A. H. Nixon,
Box 379,
Statesville, N.C.

Dear Sir:

On his return to the office the Governor read with care both of your letters of May 29th in regard to your application for appointment as Notary Public. In reply he directs me to advise that, with my letter to you of May 19th and your reply thereto of May 21st, he considered the matter closed, and does not feel justified in re-opening it.

Yours very truly,

[unsigned]
Private Secretary.
