His Excellency Locke Craig,
Governor,
Asheville, N.C.

Dear Governor:-

I herewith hand you copy of report made by commissioners in the condemnation proceedings for the State park on Mount Mitchell.

I have asked Mr. J. Bis Ray, our attorney, to have voucher filled up for the entire amount of this condemnation, and forward to you for your approval at once. I trust that you will approve it and direct the State Treasurer to pay this over to the treasurer of the commission, M. C. Honeycutt, to the end that title may pass for this property at once.

I notice in this report that the commissioners have included two acres at Step Spring, which we had agreed with Mr. Pless we would not take. I do not understand why they have done this, as the report was forwarded to me here, at Marion, where I am attending court. This can be remitted or released and excepted by final decree in the cause.

Regretting very much that I have been unable to come to your forestry meeting at Asheville, on account of court here, I am

Yours very truly,

E. F. Watson
