After consultation with county attorney and citizens of Lincoln County I hereby request you to call special term criminal court with grand jury for Lincoln for October fourth to try Andrew Jackson colored charged with ravishing white woman. See from calendar Judge Ray can hold term that week. Wire D. A. Troutman Chairman County Board Lincolnton as soon as court ordered. You are also requested to designate Troop A Lincolnton Cavalry to guard prisoner from Mecklenburg jail to Lincolnton that date and guard him during trial. Wire me Morganton.
