I forwarded to the Hon T. L. Clingman the papers in the Cases of Ruth Edwards & Lambert Claytons heirs, applicants for Pensions on the 16th April last and as I have not herd anything from them since I write you this Letter of Enquiry to Know if the papers in these Claims have Ever been presented to your department. Mr. Clingman informs me that he thinks that he did recive and present the papers in these claims but that he has not herd of them since.

Should it appear on examination that the papers in these Claims have never reached the Pension Office I should like to be informed on that point and if they are there you will please to answer them to the Hon T. L. Clingman at as early a day as possible and much oblige me
