At the Court at Kensington the 21st day of June 1754 Present The Kings most Excellent Majesty in Council

Upon reading this day at the Board, a Report from the Right Honourable the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs dated the 20th of this Instant, upon considering the Draughts of General Instructions, as also of those which relate to the Acts of Trade and Navigation, prepared by the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations, pursuant to His Majestys Order in Council of the 25th of January 1753, for Arthur Dobbs Esqr. Governor of the Province of North Carolina. By which Report it appears, that the said Lords Commissioners have made some Alterations in these Instructions from those given by his Majesty to Gabriel Johnston Esqr. the late Governor of the said Province, and likewise added several New Articles thereto, All which Alterations and Additions the Lords of the Committee have Reported as proper and necessary to be made therein. His Majesty taking the same into Consideration, was pleased, with the Advice of His Privy Council to approve of the said Draughts of Instructions together with the said Alterations and Additions and to Order as it is hereby Ordered that the Right Honourable Sir Thomas Robinson One of His Majestys Principal Secretarys of State do Cause the said Draughts of Instructions (which are hereunto annexed) to be prepared for His Majestys Royal Signature.
