STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
DISTRICT BOARD OF EXEMPTION, WESTERN DISTRICT OF NORTH CAROLINA
STATESVILLE

COPY.

July 10, 1918.

Major John D. Langston,
Raleigh,
N.C.

Dear Sir:

I am with the District Board Wednesday and Thursday, and we are putting the Rowan cases and the Winston cases through all O. K.

About 100 additional cases from Rowan have been placed in Class I, and all of the cases from Winston except 5 so far, have been placed in Class I. I have also put through some cases from Davie, but not as many sent as ought to have been.

I have just received your letter, asking that I investigate the two cases of Charles McCanless and Napoleon B. McCanless, Jr., of Salisbury, about going to the emergency fleet after being placed in a deferred class.

I will go to Salisbury and investigate these cases for you Friday.

Yours truly,

Inspector.
