George the Third by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France And Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. To Abraham Shepard Esqr. late Sheriff of the County of DobbsGreeting Whereas on a Writ of Venditione Exponas Issued on a Judgment recovered by His Excellency Arthur Dobbs Esqr. Governor &c against Stephen Cade Esqr. late Sheriff of Dobbs County for the Sum of One Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty Pounds Ten Shillings Proc for Debt also One Pound Two Shillings and Sixpence like Money in and by Our said Court to Him adjudged and taxed for his Costs and Charges in that behalf expended returnable to our Superior Court in May 1761 you the then Sheriff returned the said Writ no Goods S Executed and taken Goods &c Lands and Tenements not sold for want of Time and on Motion of the Plea Attorney it was Ordered by our said Court that a Plurias Venditione Exponas Issuas whereby &c. We command you to expose to Sale pursuant to Law the several Things by you levied on heretofore and not sold for Want of Bidders and the money arising thereby to return before our Cheif Justice and his Associate Justice at the next Superior Court of Justice to be held for the District of New Bern at the Court House in New Bern the second Day of November next then there to render into our said Court the Debt and Costs aforesaid Besides our Fees for this Service Herein fail not, and have you there this Writ. Witness Charles Berry Esqr. Cheif Justice of our said Province at New Bern the 11th. Day of May in the 4th. year of our Reign Anno Dom. 1764.

The Schedule to which the hereunto annexed refers by Virtue of the within Writ to me directed I have proceeded to, make Sale of the Lands and Effects within mentioned as to me is command Vizt. Two Hundred acres of Land on the West side of Walnut Creek and One Water Grist Mill to Robert Jones Junr. Six Feather Beds and Furniture for Eighty Eight Pounds Eight Pounds Shillings and Six Pence besides Costs and my own Fees.

And two Parcells of Land lying on the East Side of the said Creek One negro man Slave named Buck and Forty Head of Black Cattle taken on the Writ of Fieri Facias appearing by the Register of the County of Dobbs to be mortgaged to the said Robert Jones Junr. are delivered up to Him and the residue of the Effects taken on the aforesaid Writ still remains in my Hands for want of Buyers.
