July 16th 1777}

James Harrison being again called on to give a further Testimony & being duly Sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God Deposeth & Saith, that the first ^Oath^ that he took was administred to him by Thomas Harrison (son of John). This Deponent further saith that being at Thos Harrisons Senr Plantation he was in company with Daniel Legate when he heard him say that General Howe was to befrind him & such as him, Legate said that they were to Oppose a Draught likewise that ^he expected^ the Magazine at Hallifax was to be taken possession of, he likewise told this [Depon]ent that a [certain] James Hays was a principal Man in the Association & rode about the Country to prevail on people to Join
