State of North-Carolina.

To the Sheriff of Bertie County, Greeting.

YOU are hereby commanded to take the Body of John Campbell late of your said County Esqr (if to be found in your Bailiwick) and him safely keep, so that you have him before the Judges of the Superior Court, to be held for the District of Edenton at the Court-House in Edenton on the first Day of November next; then and there to answer Answer our Attorney General of and Concerning a Certain Bill of Indictment prefered against the said John Campbell by the Grand Inquest for our said District for Treason &c

Herein fail not; and have you there this Writ. Witness Charles Bondfield Clerk of the said Court, at Edenton the tenth Day of May in the Year of our Lord 1778 and in the Second Year of the Independence of the said State.
