[The following is an excerpt of an English newspaper cutting which William Brimage attached in support of his memorial to the American Loyalist Claims Commission.]

[...] He mentions also that an Association of [such] Persons in favour of Government had [been] discovered and defeated, and that the principal Movers had been thrown into Prisons amongst others, a Mr. Brimage, a Gentleman of the Law, was chained down to the Floor of the common Goal. [...]
