ASHEVILLE
BOARD OF TRADE

Asheville, N.C.

February 11th, 1916.

Governor Locke Craig,
Raleigh, N.C.

Dear Mr. Craig:-

Dr. Fletcher was in my office yesterday, and he believes it would be good business policy to keep the convicts on the Hickory Nut Gap Road until after April 1st, in order to complete the removal of the old wood culverts put in when the road was first built, and knock off a few overhanging cliffs.

We know the extended time the convicts have been on that road, but if it can consistently be done, we would be very grateful indeed if the camp would not be removed before April 1st.

Dr. Fletcher also advised that the finances for this will be taken care of up until April 1st.

This is given to you for your consideration, and we would really like to have it done.

Yours very truly,

N. Buckner
Secretary.
