Dear Gov. Craig;

Your letter¹ with reference to the misunderstanding about the wages of the one year car men received, and I immediately took the matter up with Mr. Fisher, Mr. Plummer, and yesterday we had a meeting of the committee of ten, and the Board of Trade committee, and passed a resolution stating that it was the sense of the committee that 20¢ was the sum named for the one year men, and that it was also the sense of the committee that this ought to be allowed to stand.

I am just leaving this morning for Highlands, and Mr. Zeb. Weaver, w who acted as secretary of the meeting, has promised to send you a copy of the resolution, and also to write you in regard to the matter.

I want again, on behalf of the people of Asheville, to thank you for your kindness in coming here and helping to settle this controversy.
