Biographical Description

Alexander Rouse was a a resident of New Hanover County, North Carolina. A tavern keeper and plantation owner, in 1777 Rouse testified before the local court in a case involving Jim, an enslaved man charged with theft. Rouse died in New Hanover sometime after November 1783 when his will was written.
