Pinkney Wynn was born in North Carolina on April 8, 1832. Wynn was a free man of color who lived in Wayne County, North Carolina for most of his life. He worked variously as a horse trader and farmer. Wynn died on March 24, 1902. Both his first and last names have a variety of spellings; the variation provided here is from his headstone.
