Biographical Description

William Lord was born on April 14, 1732 and was a resident of Brunswick County, North Carolina. A prominent planter, Lord became Brunswick's sheriff in 1771 and represented Brunswick in the North Carolina Colonial Assembly from 1765 to 1777. He was also a member of the Brunswick Committee of Safety and the North Carolina Provincial Congress during the American Revolution. He died in New Hanover County, North Carolina in about March 1780.
