William Bryan was born in about 1655 in Ireland and moved to Isle of Wight, Virginia by 1682. He moved to Pasquotank Precinct, North Carolina in 1722, where he became a local justice of the peace for over a decade. He represented Pasquotank in the North Carolina Colonial Assembly in 1739. He died in Pasquotank in about 1742.
