Silas Hollowell was born in Northampton County, North Carolina on August 10, 1746. He signed a petition to the North Carolina General Assembly on behalf of the Wayne County Quakers, of which he was a part, asking for the taxes on Quakers to be reevaluated. He died in Wayne County, North Carolina, on February 4, 1820.
