Zachariah Morris was born in Pasquotank Precinct, North Carolina on September 23, 1722. A Quaker, he signed a 1780 petition from the Wayne County Quakers asking the North Carolina General Assembly to reconsider the amount of taxes levied on the Quakers. He died in Wayne County on March 2, 1809.
