Biographical Description

Miles Whitehurst Ferebee was born on June 27, 1878, in Camden County, North Carolina. Ferebee was a farmer and automobile dealer who served as the register of Deeds for Camden County (1910-1916) and as a state legislator representing Camden County and Pasquotank County. In 1919, Ferebee served as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Roads and advocated strongly for the development and improvement of road systems in North Carolina. He died in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on November 8, 1958.
