Isaac Jones was born in Pennsylvania in about 1720. A resident in colonial Bladen County, he owned several enslaved people. In 1753 one of his enslaved men, Cato, was brought before the local court and found guilty of attempted murder. Then the court ordered for Cato to be executed as punishment, they compensated Jones for Cato. In 1755, Jones joined other merchants, traders, and planters in petitioning the Board of Trade for relief on trade restrictions. Jones died in Bladen County in about 1783.
