Osborn, Henry

Biographical Description

Henry Osborn (1694 - 1771) was a British naval officer who helped restore the British navy's reputation after some earlier defeats in the Seven Years War. He served as the first governor of Newfoundland from 1729 to 1731 and rose to the rank of admiral in 1757.
