Fletcher Reese Harris was born on September 25, 1859, in Granville County, North Carolina. Fletcher was a physician in Henderson, North Carolina. He was an advocate of eugenics as a means to protect the "Anglo Saxon race." Harris died in Henderson (Vance County) on August 27, 1933.
