Biographical Description

Robert Comer Norfleet was born on September 14, 1872, in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Norfleet was a prominent tobacco businessman in Winston-Salem. During World War I, he served as fuel administrator for Forsyth County before succeeding Alexander W. McAlister as the Federal Fuel Administrator for the state. He died on July 3, 1941, in Winston-Salem.
