Biographical Description

Lewis DeRosset (c.1724-1786) was an influential political figure in the Wilmington area during the mid-1700s. DeRosset served in the General Assembly as a town representative of Wilmington (1751-1752) and as a member of the royal council (1754-1775). He was a close political ally of royal governor Arthur Dobbs.
