Biographical Description

James Martin Johnson was born on December 5, 1867, in West Virginia. Johnson was a farm extension agent with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During World War I, he oversaw the recruitment and management of volunteers for the United States Boys' Working Reserve. He died on May 16, 1930, in Raleigh (Wake County).
