Biographical Description

Severn Scott (d. 1797) was a resident of Chowan and later Perquimans County. In 1778 he signed an oath swearing his allegiance to the State of North Carolina and promised to report any treasonous conspiracies that might threaten North Carolina's independence. Later in 1783 he continued to support the cause for independence and received compensation from the state for services rendered.
