Chauncey Delos Beadle was born in Ontario, Canada, on August 5, 1866. Beadle was a botanist and landscape architect who worked on the Biltmore Estate from 1890 until his retirement in 1950. During the latter part of his career there, he served as the estate's superintendent. Beadle died in Asheville (Buncombe County) on July 4, 1950.
