Thomas Richmond Randolph was born in Yancey County in April 1863. He moved to Black Mountain (Buncombe County) by 1900, where he worked as a farmer. Randolph evidently fell on hard times during the Great Depression, as by 1930 he was living in the county alms house. He presumably died shortly thereafter.
