Jones Spencer Wahab was born in Hyde County on January 30, 1868. He owned a dry goods store in Black Mountain (Buncombe County) from around 1910 until 1930, when he filed for bankruptcy amidst the Great Depression. He died in Black Mountain on July 22, 1934.
