Biographical Description

John Davis operated a horse-drawn baggage wagon for the 6th North Carolina Regiment of the Continental Army. He likely resided somewhere in or near to Granville County, North Carolina. When William Taburn, a private, loaned his wagon to the regiment, Davis operated it. Davis was then discharged from the regiment, but on the condition that he tended to Davis' crops, which he did. Any further information about Davis' fate in the war or after has not been located.
