Peter Brown was born in Rowan County, North Carolina in 1756. An owner of enslaved people, Brown once sued Richard Graham over the sale of an enslaved person, claiming that Graham had sold the person to Brown under false pretenses. Brown died in Rowan on October 31, 1812.
