Biographical Description

George Wimberly was a resident of Edgecomeb County, North Carolina by 1743. An owner of enslaved people, in 1765 Wimberly served on the local freeholders court when it heard the case of Jamey, an enslaved man charged with theft. Wimberly died in Edgecombe County in about 1768.
