Biographical Description

Peter Conway was a resident of Craven County, North Carolina. He was the longtime clerk of the county court until his death in about 1767. Prior to his death Ailce Williams, a free woman of color, protested her indenture to Peter Conway, arguing that she had never signed any formal agreement. The outcome of her petition was not recorded.
