Biographical Description

William Hoskins was a resident of Chowan County, North Carolina. An owner of enslaved people, in 1781 he served on a local freeholders court which heard the case of Jim, an enslaved man charged with unlawful possession of gunpowder. Hoskins died in Chowan in about 1818.
