Biographical Description

Henry Hill was born in about 1723 and was a resident of Hertford County, North Carolina. A local justice of the peace, in 1765 he presided over a case involving Pompey, an enslaved man charged with attempted murder. Hill later served as a lt. colonel in the Hertford County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia and died sometime before May 28, 1772.
