Biographical Description

Frederick Becton was a resident of Craven County, North Carolina. A local justice of the peace, in 1771 Becton was a member of the freeholders court which heard cases involving enslaved people. At the outbreak of the American Revolution, Becton became a major in the Craven County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia. He died by December 1775.
