Christopher Beekman was a resident of Rowan County, North Carolina and a member of the local Committee of Safety. During the American Revolution, Beekman was an officer in the Rowan County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia, eventually attaining the rank of colonel. He may have later resided in Burke County, North Carolina.
