Nathaniel Brock Taylor was born in Davie County, North Carolina on October 24, 1808 in North Carolina. He was a farmer who resided in Charlotte (Mecklenburg County) with his wife Mary Taylor and their children. In a letter from Thomas J. Moore to Governor Zebulon B. Vance, Taylor is mentioned as the father of William Taylor, a prisoner on the Western North Carolina Railroad. Taylor died sometime prior to 1878.
