Biographical Description

Edward Ballenger was born in about 1730. A resident of Johnston County, North Carolina, he owned several enslaved people. In 1768 he came before the local freeholders court when an enslaved man he owned named Will had to testify in a poisoning trial. Ballenger died in Johnston in about 1773.
