Henry Crofton was born in New Shoreham, Rhose Island on January 23, 1684. Later he became a merchant in Beaufort Precinct, North Carolina. In 1731 Kenyon became a local justice of the peace and in that role, he received many sworn depositions and testimonies. Kenyon also represented the town of Bath in the North Carolina Colonial Assembly in 1731 and from 1734-35. Kenyon died in Perquimans by February 1748.
