Biographical Description

Henry Baker was born in Virginia in about 1684. Later a resident of Chowan Precinct, North Carolina, Baker was a colonel in the local militia and also operated a ferry crossing. In 1732 he served as the foreman of a jury which chose not to charge Mary Barnes and Anne Carter with burglary. Baker died in Chowan on about April 19, 1739.
