Biographical Description

Herrall Blackmore, sometimes called Hinall or Harold, was a merchant in Wilmington, North Carolina. In 1775 he violated New Hanover's nonimportation agreement by importing enslaved Africans in violation of the resolves. Later Blackmore became a member of the Wilmington Committee of Safety, serving through 1776. He died in Duplin County, North Carolina by November 1781.
