Andrew Knox was born in about 1733. A merchant, he resided in Perquimans County. The local sheriff from 1761 to 1769, Knox represented Perquimans in the North Carolina General Assembly from 1764 to 1775 and in the Provincial Congress from 1774 to 1775. Knox died in Perquimans in about January 1776.
